Why Creeds and Confessions?
Lent 2021, Wednesday Evenings 6:30 PM on Zoom
Dr. Jeff H. McCrory Jr.
In our vows to Presbyterian leadership, we affirm that we believe first in Jesus Christ and through him in one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Second, we accept the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as the unique and authoritative witness to Jesus Christ. And third, we receive the essential tenets of the Reformed faith as expressed in our Confessions.
- Jesus
- Scripture
- Confessions
This is the order of trust for Presbyterians. I can understand Jesus and Scripture, but why Confessions?
This short class will look at why Reformed Christians place emphasis on Confessions. More specifically, we will look at the Apostles Creed as representative of a creed that makes clear scriptural teaching for a particular time and place.
