Capital Campaign Minute for Mission
Good Morning!!! Today is a very important day in the life of First Presbyterian Church. We begin signups for the small group gatherings for the Heritage, Heart and Hope capital campaign. You have heard Bill Morrow talk about the campaign we at First Presbyterian have begun and Peggy Hagler talk about what a wonderful past First Presbyterian Church has in service to God in the Knoxville community and the world. Members of the Building Design Team and the Heritage, Heart and Hope Capital Campaign Team will be at each of the small gatherings to talk about the plans for the future and to answer your questions about the project. The fly-around of the proposed renovation will be shown and other materials will be available to you to help you decide how you will participate in the campaign.
To make sure each of you has an opportunity to attend one of the gatherings, we have scheduled 14 of these gatherings in Feb and March. Our hosts are:
Sherri Ramsey Allison
Suzann and Geoff Emery
Louise and Charles Gabbard
Peggy and Earl Hagler
Debbie and Jimmy Jones
Jean and Ron Mayer
Ginny and Bill Morrow
Joanna and Ted Pennoyer
Dianna and Bob Samples
Celeste and John Whaley
Sue and Craig Wrisberg
Ann and Lanny Payne and Jean and Ron Mayer will host at Buckingham Club House
Holly Eddins and Travis Maryanski will host the New Horizons Class during the Sunday school hour in classroom #2 under the chapel.
By the way, I have heard of some yummy sounding refreshments being planned by some of these hosts! These gatherings are a wonderful opportunity to share fellowship with other members in an informal setting and to hear about the outstanding possibilities we have here at First Presbyterian Church Everyone is welcome to attend these gatherings for the fellowship and information.
By reaching our goal of $2 million for improving and expanding our facilities, we can improve and expand our efforts to do God’s work here in Knoxville, as well as in the world at large. Remember, because of the matching funds from the McMurry Fund, each $10 from members becomes $50. Signups for the gatherings begin today in the Fellowship Hall after 11am worship and will continue on Sunday, Feb 9; Wednesday, Feb 12; and Sunday, Feb 16.
I urge you not to miss one of these opportunities to have a one-on-one conversation with members of the Building Design Team and the Heritage, Heart and Hope Campaign Team. You will learn more about the plans and that will help you decide what part you will take in the future of this great church . I will see you in Fellowship Hall!
