Church Women United Hosts May Friendship Day!
Among guests at May Friendship Day were (l-r) Tina Bush, Jane Armstrong, Jean Mayer, Ann Myers, Hilda Lipe, Monica Reed, and Kelly Norrell
First Presbyterian received recognition at the May Friendship Day luncheon of Church Women United May 2 for consistent participation and attendance.
The event was at Rogers Memorial Baptist Church. Phyllis Driver received individual recognition for her service. Jean Mayer provided piano accompaniment for singing. The joyful luncheon was the last event of the year until fall for this ecumenical women’s organization which has enriched our church for many years.
We are grateful for this powerful organization formed in 1941 as a “racially, culturally, theologically, inclusive Christian women’s movement to celebrate unity and diversity and work for peace in the world.” Hilda Lipe coordinated attendance from our church.
