Celebrating a New Season of Service at the YWCA, Expanding Care for Women and Families in Knoxville

At First Presbyterian Church, the YWCA Knoxville is an important local mission partner, and we are glad to celebrate the opening of the newly renovated YWCA Nancy J. Land Center in downtown Knoxville. This expanded space will allow the YWCA to serve more women and families seeking stability and support after homelessness, addiction, loss, and domestic abuse.

Natalie Stair, CEO of the YWCA Knoxville & the Tennessee Valley, shared that this renovation was nearly ten years in the making and will significantly expand residential capacity. “Empowering women is important to me,” she said. “By creating spaces that people can move into and rebuild their lives, that’s incredibly important.”

We give thanks for the YWCA’s presence and witness in our community, and are grateful for their steady, compassionate work and for all who made this expansion possible. We look forward to supporting this organization and the many lives that will be strengthened here in the years ahead, and we honor the vision and care behind this work.
