Our 2026 Stewardship Campaign, “My Cup Overflows,” continues! Inspired by Psalm 23:5, “…my cup overflows,” this year’s campaign invites us to reflect on God’s abundant provision and how our generosity supports the life and ministry of First Presbyterian Church.
Throughout this stewardship season, we are exploring three themes: Enough, trusting that God provides what we need; More Than Enough, recognizing the abundance of God’s grace; and Enough to Share, allowing God’s gifts to overflow through us to others.
Each Sunday during worship, members of our Stewardship Committee share a personal reflection about generosity, faith, and what First Presbyterian means to them. We are also sharing these reflections in our newsletter each week so everyone has an opportunity to read them.
This week, Sam Pittenger shared his stewardship reflection, “Who’s Moving Your Cheese?”Drawing inspiration from the book Who Moved My Cheese?, Sam reflected on the importance of embracing change, stepping outside our comfort zones, and recognizing new opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. He shared how encouragement from a mentor early in his career helped him overcome his fear of public speaking and opened doors to opportunities and relationships he never expected. Sam connected this experience to the ways we can encourage and support one another, particularly during unexpected challenges in our life. He also celebrated the many ways our First Presbyterian congregation has consistently cared for one another and encouraged us to recognize the abundance of God's grace in our own lives. With a little humor and a few cheese references along the way, Sam challenged us to consider how we might step beyond what is familiar and use our time, talents, and generosity to make a difference in the lives of others.
