My Cup Overflows: Vanessa Smith Shares Her Stewardship Reflection on “Enough to Share”

Our 2026 Stewardship Campaign, “My Cup Overflows,” continues! Inspired by Psalm 23:5, “…my cup overflows,” this year’s campaign invites us to reflect on God’s abundant provision and how our generosity supports the life and ministry of First Presbyterian Church.

Throughout this stewardship season, we are exploring three themes: Enough, trusting that God provides what we need; More Than Enough, recognizing the abundance of God’s grace; and Enough to Share, allowing God’s gifts to overflow through us to others.

Each Sunday during worship, members of our Stewardship Committee share a personal reflection about generosity, faith, and what First Presbyterian means to them. We are also sharing these reflections in our newsletter each week so everyone has an opportunity to read them.

This week, Vanessa Smith, Chair of our Stewardship Committee, shared her reflection on “Enough to Share,” drawing from her experience undergoing open-heart surgery this year and the many ways our church family supported her through a difficult season. Vanessa reminded us that stewardship is about more than financial giving; it is also about sharing our time, talents, and love to care for one another and help fill each other's cups. As our stewardship season continues, we invite you to prayerfully consider your pledge for 2026. Stewardship letters and pledge cards are being mailed to members, and pledges can also be submitted online at:

Thank you for the many ways you support the worship, fellowship, faith formation, mission, and ministry of First Presbyterian Church, both here in the heart of Knoxville and beyond!
