Reflect, Connect, Serve: A Celebration of Peace, Community, and Our Shared Story

For Rally Day in August 2024, themed "Seeking God's Peace: Reflect, Connect, Serve," members of the Flower Guild created twenty centerpieces for the brunch before Sunday worship. Each arrangement was thoughtfully designed to reflect both the Rally Day theme and the rich history of First Presbyterian Church.

The burlap basket chosen as the container evokes the image of a child's lunch bag and the anticipation of a new school year, symbolizing a fresh beginning in the life of the church. Seasonal flowers represent growth and renewal, while moss, a stone, and tartan ribbon honor our Scottish Presbyterian heritage.

Additional elements tell the story of our congregation's journey. A turnip, Palm Sunday cross, and Sunday bulletin cover reflect significant aspects of our church's history and traditions. A rolled hymn and a dove complete the design, serving as reminders of worship, the presence of the Holy Spirit, and our shared calling to seek God's peace as we reflect, connect, and serve together.
