Symbols of Faith and New Life: Flower Guild Easter Arrangements at the Resurrection Window, 2023–2025
Each Easter, members of the Flower Guild create interpretive arrangements on the sill of the Resurrection Window, offering artistic reflections on Christ's death and resurrection. Through flowers, foliage, stones, and other natural materials, each design tells the story of Christ's journey, from the crown of thorns and the tomb to the hope and joy of Easter morning.
2023 – Suzann Emery
Suzann Emery's graceful and fluid design featured wild Solomon's seal, Bells of Ireland, ruscus, moss, vines, stones, and lilies. Together, these elements symbolized Christ's crown of thorns, the tomb, and the promise of the Resurrection.
2024 – Holly Eddins and Ann Eddins
Holly Eddins and her daughter, Ann, created a storytelling arrangement that depicted both the solemnity of the tomb and the joy of Easter morning. Ann's design incorporated Lenten roses, lilies, moss, sago palms, twigs, and stones to represent the tomb. Holly's companion arrangement celebrated the Resurrection, with aspidistra, sago palms, wild Solomon's seal, Lenten roses, and lilies arranged to evoke the first light of dawn breaking on a new day.
2025 – Holli Rogers and Sylvia McLaurin
Holli Rogers and Sylvia McLaurin created an interpretive design reflecting both Christ's tomb and the Resurrection. Stones, moss, and dried robellini palm fronds offered a contemplative depiction of the tomb, while burlap connected the scene to a garden-inspired expression of resurrection hope and new life.
