Please Pray for Our Youth as They Travel to Montreat for the 2026 Youth Conference

This Sunday, a group of First Presbyterian Church high school students and leaders will travel to Montreat, North Carolina, for the 2026 Montreat Youth Conference. We invite the congregation to keep our youth and leaders in your prayers as they prepare for a week of worship, learning, fellowship, and spiritual growth.

This year's theme, "Wonder & Wander," encourages youth to explore their faith with curiosity, courage, and openness. Through worship, music, recreation, and meaningful conversations, participants will discover more deeply what it means to belong to God and to one another.

Representing First Presbyterian this year are a great group of students accompanied by brave leaders Mark Curtis and Andy Morgan. Together, they will join thousands of youth and leaders from across the country in one of the Presbyterian Church's most beloved traditions.

For generations, Montreat has played an important role in the faith journeys of Presbyterian youth. Many adults in our congregation can point to experiences at Montreat that shaped their understanding of God, deepened friendships, strengthened their connection to the church, and helped them discern God's calling on their lives. Year after year, we continue to send youth because we believe these experiences matter. In a world filled with competing voices and constant distractions, Montreat offers youth a sacred space to encounter God's truth, ask meaningful questions, and know that they are deeply loved.

Please pray for safe travels, great conversations, new friendships, and transformative encounters with God's presence throughout the week.

We are also still collecting donations to help provide meals for our youth during the trip. If you would like to contribute, please consider making a gift using the link below. Thank you!
