Volunteers Needed: Decorate a Table for World Communion Sunday on October 5th

On World Communion Sunday, October 5, we join with churches around the world in giving thanks for our shared faith and the unity we have in Christ across many cultures and traditions. To mark this special day at First Presbyterian, we’re hosting a potluck lunch immediately after worship—and we’d love your help making the room as beautiful and global as the occasion!

Adopt a Table—Choose a Country!

Help us decorate the lunch tables with simple centerpieces inspired by a country of your choice (your family heritage, a place you’ve traveled, or a nation you love). Think flags, textiles, small artifacts, postcards, maps, or photos—anything that adds color and tells a story.

How it works:

  • Sign up by Friday, September 19

  • Email Mary Wilson with your name, the country you’ll represent, and any questions.

  • Bring & set up on Sunday morning, October 5

  • Drop off and arrange your items as a simple centerpiece on your assigned table before worship. You’ll pick them up after the meal.

Join Us for the Potluck!

After worship on October 5, bring a dish to share (bonus points if it connects to your table’s country!) and enjoy a festive meal as we celebrate the worldwide body of Christ. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from one another, taste something new, and give thanks for the breadth and beauty of God’s Church.

Questions or ready to volunteer? Email Mary Wilson through the church office. Thank you!
