Volunteers Needed for Family Promise at First Presbyterian

Family Promise is doing powerful work right here in our community, and there’s a place for you to be part of it!

In 2025, they helped 69 individuals, including 18 families, through the Interfaith Hospitality Network. Even more encouraging, 83% of those families found permanent housing, with an average stay of just 62 days.

As the program continues to grow, they’re looking ahead to a future static site, hopefully by 2027. First Presbyterian will still be involved, though our role may shift over time.

Right now, there’s still a very real need. We recently lost a partner church team that provided Saturday night meals, and we’d love to find folks who feel called to step in and help fill that gap.

This last hosting week at First Presbyterian went really well, thanks to so many of you who showed up, cooked meals, set up spaces, did laundry, shopped for groceries, organized supplies, brought desserts, and helped everything run smoothly. It takes all of us.

If you’ve been looking for a way to serve, this is a great place to jump in. Whether you can cook, host, or help behind the scenes, we’d love to have you. The remaining Family Promise weeks are June 14–21, September 6–13, and December 6–13.

Please reach out to Patrice Minteer through the church office to get involved.
