The 227th General Assembly Gathers in Milwaukee, WI June 22–July 2: Persevering Toward Wholeness

The 227th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) will gather June 22–July 2, 2026, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Meeting every two years, the General Assembly is the highest governing body of the PC(USA) and serves as a visible expression of the church's unity, worship, and shared discernment.

Commissioners, equal numbers of ruling elders and ministers from presbyteries across the country, gather to pray, worship, deliberate, and make decisions that shape the life and ministry of the denomination. The Assembly considers matters such as proposed changes to the Constitution, social witness policies, mission priorities, budgets, and the organization of the church. Commissioners will also review reports, and recommendations from across the denomination as they seek God's guidance for the future of the church.

This year's theme, "Persevering Toward Wholeness," is inspired by Revelation 22:2"and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations." The theme will guide worship, discussion, and discernment throughout the gathering, encouraging participants to seek healing, reconciliation, and wholeness in the church and the world.

The Assembly schedule includes online plenary and committee meetings June 22–24, a Community Day on June 27 featuring service opportunities, educational events, ministry fairs, and fellowship gatherings, and in-person plenary sessions in Milwaukee from June 28–July 2. The Assembly will conclude with the election of the Moderator on July 2.
